How to Cook Port Roast

Beef Tenderloin with Mushroom Port Sauce

The main ingredients in this recipe are three pounds beef tenderloin roast, a cup of port wine and a pound of chopped mushrooms. To enhance the taste of the dish, you need two large garlic cloves, three tablespoons butter, a cup of chopped shallots, a cup of beef broth as well as a tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with tablespoons of water. For seasoning, use ½ teaspoon salt and ½ teaspoon ground black pepper.

Instructions

Season the meat with pepper, salt, garlic and olive oil. Place a pan over medium heat. Put the beef in the pan for five minutes. Turn the meat and heat the other side of beef for another five minutes. Transfer the meat in a rack and place inside an oven that was preheated to 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes to 40 minutes. Heat 1 ½ tablespoons of butter in the pan. Add the shallots and mushrooms. Stir and add the remaining butter after a minute. Transfer the shallots and mushrooms in a bowl. Pour the wine in the pan. Add the broth, cornstarch and mustard. Cook for seven minutes. Add the mushrooms and shallots. Remove the beef from the oven and place on a plate. Slice the meat and pour the sauce over the beef. Serve immediately.

Glazed Pork Roast

Ingredients

Another special recipe that can be easily prepared and cooked is Glazed Pork Roast. The dish contains five pounds of pork roast, ½ cup port wine as well as ½ teaspoon salt. Aside from these, the recipe uses ½ teaspoon pepper and 1/4 cup sugar.

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 345 degrees Fahrenheit. Season the meat with pepper and salt. Heat the pork in a skillet for ten minutes. Remove the meat from the pan and place in a baking pan. Put the pan in the oven and roast the meat for two hours. Place a small casserole over medium fire. Pour the wine and add the sugar. Cook the mixture for three minutes to seven minutes. Remove the pork from the oven and pour the sauce over the meat. Return the meat to the oven and cook for ten minutes. Serve immediately.
