One of the things computer users often try to do is convert AVI to WMV. Fortunately, there are now numerous applications that make the whole process painless and hassle free.
Using the AVI & WMV Program
Step 1
Download the AVI & WMV program. It is freeware. Follow the instructions for installing the software. Open the program.

Look for the “AVI to WMV” icon on the toolbar. Press “

Double click the icon to start the program. In the Video options, click “All to WMV”. This is at the lower left hand portion.
Step 3
Find the AVI you want to change. Drag the file into the Format Factory screen. Press “Start”.
Some Tips and Hints
As these video formats are always being updated, the programs will need to install codecs in order to read the file. The program will notify you if it is necessary. Usually the process is simple. Just click yes when the codec download message pops. It will automatically download the needed files.
The conversion time will depend on the length and quality of the video. Higher quality videos will take longer to download. The conversion process may take longer if other programs are running in the background.
It is best to shut down all unnecessary apps. If you need to run other software, make sure you have plenty of memory and CPU power. Plenty of disk space is ideal too.
