Nutty Yam Bake
This dish can be served as a snack, appetizer or dessert. To make the dish, you need three large yams, ¼ cup butter, a cup of brown sugar, a teaspoon of cinnamon, ½ teaspoon allspice, two eggs and two cups milk. To enhance the flavor of the dish you should have toppings for the tubers. For the toppings, you should have ½ cup flour, ½ cup butter, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, ½ cup brown sugar and ½ cup chopped walnuts.
Fill a large pot with water. Add the tubers and boil the water. Use a strainer to remove the water. Mash the tubers and add in the spices, butter and sugar. Beat eggs. Pour the milk in a bowl and mix with the beaten eggs. Add the milk and beaten eggs with the mashed tubers.
Combine the ingredients for the toppings. Drizzle the toppings on the mashed tubers. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook the tubers for 35 minutes to 40 minutes. Serve immediately.
Easy Baked Yams
To make this appetizing dish, you need 12 medium canned yams, a stick of butter, ½ cup brown sugar and two teaspoons cinnamon. Aside from these ingredients, you need a teaspoon of nutmeg, ½ teaspoon of allspice, a teaspoon of salt, four tart apples, a cup of raisins and a small package of mini marshmallows.
Place a skillet on medium high heat. Put the butter in the skillet and melt. Add the brown sugar and mix. Stir in the cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and allspice. Slice the yams into two. Drizzle the mixture over the yams. Slice the tart apples into several rings. Arrange the yams and apples in a baking dish. Top the vegetables and fruits with nuts and raisins. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook the dish for 50 minutes to an hour. Add in the marshmallows and return to oven. Bake for five minutes. Serve and enjoy.
